Chichawatni: Eight accused escape from police lockup

Eight policemen, including the station house officer, have been arrested.

Eight accused involved in cases of attempted murder and kidnapping fled from the lockup in Chichawatni.According to Dunya News, three accused of attempted murder and five of Kidnapping for ransom cases, who were arrested from Lahore, had been kept in Chichawatni Police Station on a judicial remand.The accused broke the lockup and fled from the scene at 5am on Monday.According to the police, the area has been cordoned off to arrest the accused.However, eight policemen, including the station house officer, have been arrested and cases registered against them. The accused had allegedly kidnapped one Kamran and released him after he paid them Rs 1 million as ransom. Kamran alleged that the accused were escaped with the abetment of the policemen.It may be mentioned that a murder accused had also fled from the same police station in 2009.
