LAHORE – The Punjab Higher Education Department has issued notification for the establishment of the Sahiwal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), which will be the ninth educational board of the province.
HED officials told TheNation on Thursday that the establishment of the board was under consideration since long and the department finally issued notification to this effect after approval by the competent authority – the Punjab chief minister.
They informed that Gujranwala BISE Chairman Mahar Basheer Ahmed had been given the additional charge of Sahiwal BISE Chairman.The officials further said that the board would hold the upcoming supplementary examinations of matriculation and intermediate. “The process of acquiring an office for the Sahiwal BISE has already started. Funds would be provided to the board from the budget of the Lahore and Multan BISEs.
Introduction:
Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sahiwal (BISE Sahiwal) is 9th board of Punjab which is now offering its educational services for the candidates who are located in its commanding area.
History:
BISE Sahiwal has established in 15 June 2012. It is founded after the notification of Punjab Higher Education Department for the establishment of the Sahiwal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), which is now ninth educational board of the province. It is responsible to conduct examinations for schools and colleges listed within its jurisdiction territory.
Jurisdiction:
According to the BISE Chairmain the Sahiwal Board will offer its educational services for the students of three districts Sahiwal, Okara and Vehari. Prior to foundation of Sahiwal board Vehari were included in the Multan BISE and Okara was included in the Lahore BISE.
